Spectrum 210a box & resolution

I am new to Spectrum and just had the TV and box installed today.

I cannot set the resolution on the new Spectrum box. I can get into it through the settings, but it will not allow me to check the box for any of the 4 to 5 choices that are present. I want to check 1080i as I have a 4K set and 1080i should be the easy choice...but it will not allow me to to check any of the boxes and it the picture is somehow defaulted to 720p. (although the box for 720p and none of the other boxes are checked and cannot be checked. Anyone have a fix for this.? I am also having a hard time setting up the DVR with a series when not already in the guide. Setting up first run shows to record from the guide is easy..but shows I cannot find in the guide--I can't seem to set up even using the search.  Thanks for the help.

Hello,

Very possible that a software update was pushed out where the boxes now come through with the native pass-through resolution supported by the channel.  Others have noticed this as well on Spectrum World Boxes (No Clock.)

If a series or show is not already in the guide database, you won't find it. The guide needs at least one instance of a show to be in the system for it to find the show.  Furthermore, old series that are no longer showing new or syndicated airings will not delete. This is a bug. Spectrum knows about this, but there is no ETA for a fix.

These elements might explain the problems with searching.  If not, can you please post a screenshot of what you are trying to search for and the results of the search.  Note that because the searches are cloud-based on all the new boxes, they may take from 12-24 hours to populate fully with guide data. This is because the guide data has to come down from the cloud servers, and synchronize with your box.

Re: Spectrum 210a box & resolution

Thanks for the reply.  I think you are right about the native resolution broadcast update as even with the new replacement box that I picked up today...I still cannot select the resolution. (the boxes are all unchecked and not allowing to be checked.)

However, with the new box replacement, although I had the same resolution issue where I could not select the preferred resolution,  the channels on the replacement box are at least broadcasting in 1080 now and not 720p. (the box I returned was only broadcasting in 720p and could not be changed even though the 720p box and all other boxes were not checked.)

The replacement box is I picked up today is broadcasting channels in 1080p, which is great but odd since I thought the highest resolution on channels through Spectrum was 1080i.

I tried to get a 4 or 6 tuner box that was not one of these newer world boxes and the store said that they are only allowed to give out these Spectrum boxes now with no clock.

Spectrum 210. Exact same box they set up the day prior.

I asked for a 4 or 6 tuner in Arris or Cisco and they said that all they can provide is the new Spectrum 210 box. I am in California.

Re: Spectrum 210a box & resolution

you can't get the six tuner boxes no more atlease not in my area. it's either the crummy world boxes or a dual tuner box. wich makes no sense to me. as i would prefer the whole home setup with mini's so i can hide them behind the t.v.. wich makes more sense than having to deal with a clunky cable box. apple t.v.s and rokus don't cut it for me as i am not willing to depend on my internets to watch t.v.. if one goes down i want something to do while the other thing is being fixedSmiley Wink
