Connecting My TV to a Spectrum Cable Box Via WiFi

Is there any way to connect my TV to a Spectrum Cable Box via WiFi? Or do I need to use an HDMI cable to get them connected?

Also, is there an app for my iPhone that would simulate the remote for Spectrum?

Thanks!

Re: Connecting My TV to a Spectrum Cable Box Via WiFi

It kind of depends what you are trying to achieve. If you mean are there any Spectrum boxes that can be set up to stream over your existing Spectrum WiFi network then no.

If you are just trying to get rid of your HDMI cable, you can buy aftermarket HDMI transmitters that broadcast on their own WiFi networks. That would be a pretty expensive solution just to get rid of a cable. if you did this you could then use the Spectrum App on an iPhone  to change channels on your box. It can do that.  But that is all it could do, no power on/off, volume or other remote commands.

So unless something has radically changed I think the answer to both your questions is no.

You could buy a Roku TV or a TV that supports the Roku app, but that comes with it's own set of problems : ).
