No IPv6 for Me

I lost IPv6 support yesterday even after having reset my Modem and my Router.  This happened after a power failure... after which, I simply never again got a DHCPv6 lease on an Internet IPv6 address.

When I call TWC, I have had one person ask, "What's the difference?"  Tell me, "You don't need that," etc., but most just ask, "You are experiencing a slow connection?"  Me: "No, I am reporting NO IPv6 Connectivity.  My IPv4 works fine."  It is frustrating that they typically do not even know what IPv6 actually is.  That siad, the Tier 3 people do know what I am talking about, but they claim no issues on their end and cannot find a resolution.

My modem is a SB6141, which used to work perfectly fine for IPv6, and my router is a Linksys EA6400.  Besides, I have tried connecting a computer directly to my modem, and that did not work, either.

I have had TWC support fully reprovision the modem, etc.  Regardless, they claim there is no outage, yet I clearly do NOT have IPv6 support anymore.

Any ideas?  The area is West Columbia, SC

That sux, where are you? Zip code?

Paste the modems error log and signal pages...

TWC screwed up the CMTS boxes at the head end a couple months ago and lost IPv6 support for 6183's

People were able to use 6141'which worked fine.

I just had a post that the time server was messed up after DST hit, TWC sent a new provisioning file 2 weeks ago and fixed it

I am not running IPv6 yet, have too much legacy gear.

Here is what's in my 6141

it's being adminstered fin by IPv6...

You won't get any help until Monday but you can send a private message to TWC_ForumsHelp.

This link should take you there.

If you include a link to this thread it will probably help.

Re: No IPv6 for Me

Is your 6141 still working or has TWC messed it up.? See if you're seeing IPv6 administration in the log like what I posted.

Re: No IPv6 for Me

I think TWC has the CMTS at the head end screwed up, I was getting bizarre errors for a couple days.

Was that you pulling the plug to reset it?

Next, I would try using a 2 way splitter with a term resistor on the other port as a 3.5 dB attenuator to see if the downstream is a little too high

Re: No IPv6 for Me

Can you link me to where I would get that?

Re: No IPv6 for Me

Go to Lowes or home depot, buy a 5-1200mHz  or a 5-2150 mHz 2 way splitter and a 2 pack of terminating(load) resistors and a short rg6 jumper cable.

It will reduce the fownstream by 3.5 db and raise the upsteam 3.5 dB

Re: No IPv6 for Me

I am a bit confused.  I need a splitter; I get that, and I understand I need a load resisotor to use up 3.5 db of signal.

Is that just a terminating cap that is say 75 ohms?

If so, what is the RG6 cable for?  Also, why do I need two (2) termination caps?  Thanks
