I have had techs fix it...last a few hours then dropped to offline. I can print from my pc. he changed my IP number and worked on it still wont work. This has been going on months, have had tech fix 2 or 3 a month. Do I need a new MODEM
no, you need to set it and the router correctly. sounds like the typical HP issue
1 Go into the router, Set the dhcp start for 192.168.0.100
2 Set the wireless DHCP lease for a day, not an hour.
3 Connect the printer to the router via an ethernet cable
4 Set the printer for a static IP of 192.168.0.99
It may work on wireless, skipping step 3 provided 1,2,4 are done
HINT: The DHCP lease timeout setting is usually in seconds, so 3600 is one hour. Some boxes only accept 5 digits, so enter 99,999 and you'll be OK,
If this is a gateway modem leased from TWC/Spectrum, you can't lock those settings. Every time they reset the unit it will switch back to their default values, which you know very well are not going to work for you.
