New router - print window shows IP address instead of model #

After installing new router and modem wifi set up good to go. I noticed the print window shows IP address  instead of printer model #. Prints fine just never seen the IP shows up in printer window for B?w color atc.

Are you referring to an LCD display on your printer, or on your computer?  If so, please tell us the make and model numbers of those devices.

An IP address displayed on the printer could be for the router (which is normally 192.168.1.1) or for the printer itself (192.168.1.nnn where nnn is a number from 11 to 254).

If you are talking about how it shows up in the windows printer selection list and such, it may be due to how it was mapped.

For example, if mapped using standard TCP/IP port method, you get two boxes to populate... one is the IP of the virtual port, the other is the name. By default, it uses the IP in both... but you can edit the name to whatever you want before you apply it.
