Netgear AC1900

I see several approved Netgear modems on Spectrum's approved modem list but do not see the NETGEAR Nighthawk AC1900 or the NETGEAR CM500V in the list. Does anyone know if they are approved for Spectrum to connect for internet and LAN phone service?

Re: Netgear AC1900

Would hazard a guess they would be very particular with internet phone configurations, so may not be including that in the bring your own modem listings. They didn't list any voice capable modems in our old TWC market.

May need to have a one-on-one discussion with your local office about setting up end-user provided equipment. They may require you to still use their modem, but let you use your own Wi-Fi router behind it somehow.

Thanks for the follow-up, will check with the local office - they are not charging me for the Wi-Fi router, but for the modem.

To clear that up. We do not allow customer owned modems to have phone service provisioned on them.  If you want to have a Spectrum phone you would be required

to use our MTA. You would still have the option to use your own modem (from the approved list) and router if you would like.

If you want to use one of our modem/router/mta modems you can do that and run

your router from that.

Re: Netgear AC1900

If you do choose Specrum phone service, their monthly rate for phone service includes the modem charge.  If you piggyback internet and WiFi from the phone modem there is an extra monthly charge.

Spectrum Plans, unlike TWC plans, have no modem lease fee for either phone or

Internet. There is a charge to provide WiFi from our equipment.
