I have 2in1 modem/router from twc, is there a way I can use my 2nd router without bridging the combo modem-router and having the 2nd router using like its own dhcp? Something like that? Right now the 2nd router is using the same IPv4 settings from the first router. I keep getting high pings from the first router. Help is appreciated!
The combo/modem's gateway is 192.168.0.1 and the 2nd router linksys is 192.168.1.1 but it is still using the same IPv4 settings as the first one
Yes, on my device it is using 192.168.1.xxx, but it is still using the same ip's in the ipv4 section as the combo/modem. Is there a way I can change that?
The dhcp lease should be set high, like for 1440 minutes, not an hour.
Wan setting shouldn't be auto
Here's my second one:
WAN Connection Type
Network SetupRouter IP
Network Address Server Settings (DHCP)
A tracert to google.com looks like this:
Tracing route to google.com [18.104.22.168]
over a maximum of 30 hops:
1 1 ms <1 ms <1 ms DD-WRT [192.168.6.6] first router
2 1 ms <1 ms <1 ms 192.168.1.1 main router at the modem
3 18 ms 9 ms 9 ms 142.254.157. CMTS
I saw the PM and only reply here.
Turn dhcp on and then set the lan settings for a gateway of 192.168.3.1, subnet 255.255.255.0 and a dhcp start of 192.168.3.100
DNS 1 to 22.214.171.124 and dns 2 to 126.96.36.199
