DG 1672 and MoCa

Question, possible to enable MoCa and use a leg with a Moca receiver, house has a POE Filter for previous whole

home DVR(no longer in use). Seems to me, if the leg has no filter it should allow it to pass.?

Yes, but TWC has MOCA disabled in all the modems. worst yet, in the firmware.

That's a shame, seems a rather elegant solution over running ethernet cable.

They don't want neighbors sharing internet access...

It's also rumored why the wireless coverage is so bad.... power is turned down

Right, if one were to rip the POE filter, not good.

There are a lot of places that customers can't install POE filters, TWC needs to buy pole taps with MOCA poe filters on each port.

There is also no security on MOCA, that opens a can of worms as well....

They have POE grounding blocks, as well.

Yes but those are customer accessable and can be bypassed or removed leading to lightning issues...
