All movies on HBO freeze as soon as they get to the ratings or sooner.
I tried rebooting the set top box.
If this issue is not resolved after twelve hours, set up a signal and drop line test. Don't reboot anything (boxes, modems routers) for six hours prior to your service call appointment. A swapped box will not solve this. Reboots reset the signal error codes to zero that the tech needs to see. For reference, where are you located? City? State? Zip?
When the tech comes, show him the HBO On Demand problem, so that he can take a signal reading. On Demand is very sensitive to signal issues.

We had an internet and cable TV outage in my neighborhood several days ago that affected 100 homes several days ago. As soon as they fixed the outage, on demand movies from all channels stopped working and they haven’t worked since then. Movies will start to play for a few seconds but then they lock up every time.
