I have my Arris box connected via Tos-link(optical) to my stereo which has worked fine for years. After the December update to the box firmware, any change of channel results in no sound. Worked with the TWC customer service who went through changing Audio Output formats with no success. Any channel change resulted in no sound.
Did some experiments on my own and found that in the Audio setup, the Dolby Volume option needs to be set to ON. Even if Dolbly Output isn't in use, this setting is required. Then the box will maintain sound when channels are changed.
