DVR BOX Arris/Motorola DCX3600-M progress bar blocks out the bottom of the screen

This dvr box has a very large, very dark progress bar that comes up at the bottom of the screen when pausing, rewinding, etc.  It makes it impossible to see the bottom of the screen and depending on what I'm watching - say the news - you can't see anything behind that bar. It also takes about 5 seconds to go away when you hit play again - so if you want to see what was behind that black bar you have to rewind farther back than what you wanted to see so there's time for the bar to disappear before you get to the screen that had the info you wanted to see.

This is SO annoying! Is there any way to change that bar? Make it less opaque so you can see through it? Something? Anything??

Thanks.

Hi,

Press Settings on your remote and within that menu should be something  "Display."  if you have the ODN Navigator Guide.  Spectrum Guide should have something similar in Settings.  Go to Banner Duration, and set the "Banner Duration" to "Fast."  Yes, an "On/Off" option for the channel banner would be a welcome update.

You can kill the banner at any time by pressing the EXIT button.  For those with DVR service, the banner comes on in Pause Mode, so that customers don't think there is a video problem by default.

Fortunately, there's not too much content missed underneath that banner for those who have it set at the fastest setting.  The banner can also help ensure that your remote is working properly with regards to channel changing.  Sometimes, depending on box type, it is hard to see the channel numbers/time on the box.  This is an instance where the banner can be helpful.

But I agree that for customers who don't want to see the channel banner at all, an option in Settings to turn off the banner would be helpful.
