trying to reboot Cisco box. Gets to L-8 & then freezes. Box shows E-8.
You will need to power off both your TV and box. Unplug your box for about one minute and allow the box to reboot. If it reboots and holds for about 3-4 days. It's fixed. If it doesn't reboot, or the problem comes back, this is usually a bad box. You will need to have your signals and drop line checked first. Bad signals and lines are never resolved by replacing the box.
Set up a service call if the issue comes back. Try not to reboot any boxes, modems, or routers for six hours prior to your appointment as doing so resets the error codes and the tech needs to see them. If the signals and lines are bad the tech will replace them and than check your box. If the box is bad, which is most often in these situations, the tech will replace the box.
