Cable Guide Not Available therefor DVR not recording

This day number two with no TV guide available and nothing recording. What is going on?

Do you mean the cable box?  Or a Mobile application?  If it is the box, power off the box, than unplug for one minute.  Than plug the box back in, and wait for the time to show on the display.  Check your program guide now.

 

If the guide is still not visible, or the problem comes back after a few days, you have bad signals.  At that point, contact TWC with some account information at this PM link. @Forums_Help  Mention that you have cold rebooted that box and that guide data is missing for the past several days.  Have them set up a service call for a Signal and Drop Line Test.  Your signals may be bad.  Rarely will a swapped box solve this type of issue.  Feel free to keep us posted.

Secure the connections behind your cable box. Then unplug the power plug for about 30 seconds, and plug it back in. The box will then be forced to reset, which can take up to 10 minutes. During this time multiple messages will show on the front display. You have to wait for the correct time to re-appear on the front of the cable box then power it on. Check guide see if issue resolved, once the titles are back DVR should function normally. I

Get another dvr if  a reset doesn't fix this, contact billing and demand a credit for DVR service not working. They may require you to swap out the DVR first.

I respectfully disagree,

 

I would say get the signals and drop line check out first, there could be a problem with the transmission relay of the guide data, which a swapped box will not solve if this is a signal or line problem.  Get that checked by a tech first.  Than, and only than, would I recommend a box swap if the signals are good and the drop line is good.

You'll have more issues than just a messed up guide if levels are bad, example, a reset ill fail to complete itself.

But it's possible that';s all the OP has noticed so far...

Turned power off on front, unplugged from outlet, waited 1 minute, plugged back in and still no data on program guide (in my case the channel up down button didn't work either - not on remote nor the front of the dvr).  Called suport, reluctantly did another reboot per support guy, HOWEVER, he told me not to turn the power off - just unplug it, wait 10 seconds and plug back in.  This worked ?!?!?!?

On-off does not turn the box on and off, only the video output. To do a reboot, you need to either unplug it or go into the service menu
