Replacing old landline phone with new one

Hello,

I need to replace my old cordless landline phone. I have basic plan with caller ID and call waiting. Is the changeover from old phone as simple as plugging in new phone to power outlet and phone jack, or will I need to make other modifications? If it makes a difference I'm replacing a Panasonic with a new Panasonic.

  Thanks for guidance.

Hello 3947, you can just plug in your new phone and you'll be good to go.

phones are phones.. no difference other than trying to put a bunch of old mechanical ringer phones like 2500's on the line

Encouraging! Thanks. My old Panasonic is approx 15 or more years old, no problems. Sturdy, nice and heavy in hand...this new one seems "tinny" by comparison.
