I am using Outlook 2016 and always get an error anytime sending/receiving as follows:
!Task (e-mail address) Sending reported error (080042108): The operation timed out waiting for a response from the sending (SMTP) server.
My settings are as follows"
Account type: IMAP
Incoming Mail Server: mail.twc.com
Incoming Server: IMAP port.993
Out server: SMTP port 587*
Anyone have an idea how to fix this error or whose problem it really is, Spectrum or Microsoft?
It looks like you might have a trailing * after port 587 that is not needed. If there is a * in your configuration, please remove it, save the revised settings and try sending another email. Let us know if you continue to get the same error.
