Cannot logon to email./Webmail since September. Password reset doesn't give a valid password

I use Thunderbird client for my TWC\Road Runner email. It quit accepting my password in September and hasn't worked since. I went to the reset site: https://pt.rr.com/ and have my email address correctly recognized, can answer the proofing personal question and be issued a new password, but the one the site suppossedly changes it is either not actually changing it to the given password it tells me to use or it is just broken.  Or does it take a certain time after the site changes it for it to become affective.

 

I've tried that password at the subscriber self-care and also it doesn't work there:

That site also directs me to the pt.rr.com site for password change management.

 

Just trying to get onto the webmail to verify my account is good before I mess with Thunderbird. In thunderbird the POP server I had configured was pop-server.rr.com and that won't resolve anymore (as of September?), but looks like i am supposed to  use pop-server.dc.rr.com now (that resolves\pings OK)?

Dont' POP the server, use IMAP.

 

POPping the server downloads email from Spectrum's server onto THAT client, and deletes the email from Spectrum's server.

 

By using IMAP, you will have copies of email on the Spectrum server, and all clients that you use to connect to that email account.

Password:

Give it up to 24 hours or call Customer Service. Sometimes the server is slow.

 

Thunderbird:

Give this a try: https://www.spectrum.net/support/internet/twc-spectrum-email-server-settings

It does not explicitly show Thunderbird but the settings should be the same.
