local area connection doesn't have a valid ip configuration

Hello, so I use a program called WTFast which helps me get a better ping in games I play. Now around a hour using this program I loss connection from the internet, saying I have no internet access. So I trouble shoot the problem and it says it needs to restart my local area network. Now I tried to get help in the WTFast support forums but they said that it could be my modem/router. Now I am not really sure what the problem is and I was hoping that I could find some help here since TWC is my internet provider.

are you using a wireless connection? If so switch to ethernet

set the dhcp lease for a day, turn off WPS

Re: local area connection doesn't have a valid ip configuration

copy and paste the modems signal level and error log pages, don't reset it, need to see real history

11. The only problem is that I run a program called WTFast and around a hour in from using it I loss connection the the internet saying that local area network needs to be reset. After trouble shooting it / reseting it it says that local area connection doesn't have a valid ip configuration. After that  I can connect to the internet again but I would like to prevent this problem from happening so I can use the program.

The only background prgrams I know that are running 24-7 are things like AVG and Malwarebytes as well as NVIDIA GeForce Experience.

Re: local area connection doesn't have a valid ip configuration

Thanks for reading the note and sending in your data.  It looks to me like WTFast is resetting because your connection is timing out.  The DHCP address of your (rented) TG1672 modem is expiring, it's not being renewed periodically from TWC's server as it should be.  @MsRaye can read through the event log to determine a probable cause.   Sorry, I'm still learning how to read the log files.
