i've been having this problem for months now, have had 3 technicians come out and they say everything is perfect in our house, they give us their number and email, then never respond. Any suggestions on how to get this fixed, as the internet is almost unusable at some points from 5pm-midnight.
looks like you're going thru 2 routers for a start. only one should be NAT, the other bridged.
Copy and paste the modems signal level and error log pages, you may have the austin issue
I've always had me router setup going through the router and modem, (the 2 hops), haven't had issues with it until recently, and people in our neighborhood who are having the same problem are using 1 hop. So I don't think that is the problem.
Can you show me how to find the modem signal level and error log pages?
And can you tell me what the "austin issue" is? and how to fix it.
You need to get rid of one or more splitters in line. If you're internet only, there should be none in line. If you have cable tv, the modem must be on the first 2 way and the other port split for tv boxes.
Signal levels are marginal.
Next, something is loose or there's open splitter ports and cables.

its a problem all over the US. The merge between TWC and Charter put double the people on lines, screwing over a few of us, and we can't do anything about it
Cleanup the splitter configuration first. Levels in the -7 to -10 range are problematic and below -10 don't work at all
modem must be on the first 2 way splitter towards the street and any other cable boxes split off it's other port.
You also have correcteds and uncorrected caused by loose or corroded connections and allowing LMR and broadcast TV ingress
