Re: SB 6141 Question

We have been having the same issues on and off for a year.

We have Time Warner coming out today.

My wife works from home and she says she always has to reset the modem.

She is going into the office to work tomorrow and I am "in charge of" getting the issue fixed by Time Warner.

Any suggestions on what I should ask the Time Warner employee tomorrow to look into tomorrow?

Re: SB 6141 Question

Your upstream levels are on the high side and may be causing the T3 errors

What kind of router do you have, it may be having an issue with the T3's

Re: SB 6141 Question

make sure there's no open/ extra splitter ports, get upstream below +50 dBmv

Re: SB 6141 Question

TW just left and replaced the cable from the box in the yard to house.  The cable goes right to the Modem no splitters  Speed Test  64ms Ping - 24.22 DL and  2.62 UP

We are on TW Turbo would it be any better to upgrade to Extreme or Ultimate 50?

Re: SB 6141 Question

I'd hold off on the upgrade for now, look at the speed / connectivity for a few days. how large of files need to be uploaded/downloaded?  switching from 20/2 to 30/5 would cut upload times in half 50/5 won't help you.

Copy and paste the modems signal level page, let's see if it's better.

What did they say was wrong with the old cable?

 What's your zipcode?

Just Read the PM, I think you have way too many devices for 20/2

I don't think he found a issue but wanted to replace the end that connected to the modem.
My Zide Code is 14120

I am using a Motorola SB6141 Modem with Apple AirPort Extreme 6 generation Router.

I ran a Ethernet cable from the Apple router directly to my wife's laptop 2 days ago and she is still getting dropped connections.

Could it be the Apple Router?

She says it only happens when I go on my iMac.

Would 30/5 be a better option for the amount of devices we have ?

Thanks for your advice by the way

Re: SB 6141 Question

Just Read the PM, I think you have way too many devices for 20/2

go to 30/5, that will double the upload capability

50/5 won't fix uploads any better, you'd need 100/10, need to wait for maxx, lol
