Problems with connectivity again

I have 30 mbps and somehow that is not enough to play a youtube video and my boyfriend to game on his PC. I need to know if these numbers seem off because I have NO CLUE.

Did a speed test, there is NO WAY that I am getting 37.22mbps download and 6.27 upload on my wireless connection mind you.

Here's my stuff:

I got a t3 timeout once one day and once today. Not sure what could be going on. All my stuff is tightly in place far as the modem goes. I am almost suspecting my modem is to blame. Anyone has a clue please PLEASE let me know I am going insane because I am paying 65/mo for 30 mbps and I feel like I am not even getting half with the fact I can't watch youtube while my boyfriend plays on his PC.

Re: Problems with connectivity again

I don't think it's a modem or signal issue per the data.

Re: Problems with connectivity again

this tells me the problem is between the router and your computer.

Something is hoarding bandwidth, like cloud, I tune sync, onedrive, dropbox, etc.

 1 43 ms <1 ms 31 ms 192.168.0.1

hop 1 s/b < 1ms.

Re: Problems with connectivity again

I was gonna suggest setting up QoS.

I have a Netgear WNDR3400v3 running Tomato, so i'm not sure how robust QoS is on stock routers these days.

Well I have a laptop, a kindle fire tablet, a pc, my ps4 [which is not running right now], a ps3 [which has been shut down forever] and a cellphone [I do not connect it to my internet] and a 3ds [which is currently off].

So how do I hop then?

I shut off my tablet just now to see what happens when I run another trace

When I turned off my tablet just now and ran another trace here is what came up.

I am assuming that my tablet has some sort of cloud type service I do not know about? Because when looking at 1 it shows a huge difference than compared to before.

Re: Problems with connectivity again

Those numbers look good, I have seen you tube videos alone use 15 Mb/so to 25Ms for HD content, as others have said you might issues with your wireless router.. If you have android cell phone get wifi analyzer from app store, its very good and shows graphs for you and neighbors, you might be sitting on a chanel with a really close neighbors, you could manually set a channel that is clear. I would no do this unless i understood somewhat how wifi channels work. and also make sure your iCould, One Drive, Google drive are turned off.

Re: Problems with connectivity again

Tablet is using cloud storage...

turn it off when you game, see if that's the culprit
