Poor performance and reconnects - SB6141 - SoCal - No Ranging Response received - T3 time-out

I'm having slow uplink speed to some services. I was normally able to stream at 5Mbit but now I'm limited to 0.5-2Mbit. Some services are fine, others are now. The reboots I am seeing point to my connection as being at fault.

 

Any help would be great! I bought this modem but if renting one may solve this problem I will look into it.

s/n is too low, it won't work well at 33 dB, and lucky if it works at 30 dB..

It could be either a signal quality , not a level issue.. Is there an amolifier in line?

If not, it could be a bad modem... Or the modem power supply has gone bad, either the external or the internal one...

 Is there anything between the outside grounding block and the modem? Do you have TWC cable TV?

I do not have an aplifier.

I do not know if anything is between the grounding block and modem.

I have internet only.

 

BTW i unplugged my modem/router all night and then just plugged into the modem direct (dirty). I got the same results. I turned it off, turned it on and then plugged into the modem and router and now all of a sudden my upload stats are better now. I also went to the Spectrum website and ordered a rental modem. Did placing an order for a lease modem reset anything?

 Sorry but that's still bad and in my opinion both unuseable and unreliable. So,

try the new modem, if it has s/n well above the 29-30 dB , you have a bad 6141, if the s/n is in the low 30's, you have a signal issue and it's probably outside somewhere.

Is the grounding block all corroded? This is probably going to need TWC out to fix if so...
