Packet Loss/Disconnection Issues - Blizzard games

So I've been having severe packet loss and been disconnecting while playing Blizzard's Overwatch open beta. I had very similar issues with Diablo3 in the past, but it seem to have fixed itself. Also worth mentioning, that when I'm on Skype + playing Overwatch, Skype will disconnect and re-connect when I get disconnected from Overwatch.

I've done various troubleshooting on my end and like to believe that I have decent experience when it comes to networking. I've tried the following methods:

Power Cycle Modem

Run ethernet cable directly from modem to PC (have a linksys router I run through)

Update lastest drivers and firmware

Various command prompts (flushdns ipconfig release/renew)

Set up static IP address

Attempted alternate DNS servers

Tried VPNs

Attempted to run game on laptop (which runs the game, but same issues, uses wireless)

Below I have pathping and tracert results

Re: Packet Loss/Disconnection Issues - Blizzard games

I would assume the overwatch open beta is a stress test and thats why its lagging like crazy.

I suppose I could download it and see.

Seems there are issues on the overwwatch forums.

That is what I originally thought, but they haven't announced it and it seems others are experiencing similiar issues as well (which you already noticed by checking the forums).

A couple of my buds told me TWC is known to have issues connecting to Blizzard servers.

Blizz isn't known for interacting with the public these days.

don't reset the modem, copy and paste the signal level and error log pages.

Is this what you were asking for?

So got in touch with an agent over chat, and showed him my tracert and pathping logs. He did what he could do on his end, but problem still persists.

Re: Packet Loss/Disconnection Issues - Blizzard games

What speed are you paying for? if over 15/1 you're getting ripped off.

It looks like you have an old obsolete docsis 2 modem. That is very much an issue

Re: Packet Loss/Disconnection Issues - Blizzard games

Currently paying for Standard Internet with the Turbo Upgrade.

The modem in use is an Ambit Modem U10C018

Standard Internet 52.30

Turbo Upgrade 10.00

Re: Packet Loss/Disconnection Issues - Blizzard games

It's a leased one?

Get a new modem, they are not reliable at 15/1 in most areas much less 20/2.

Until it's replaced with an 8x4 bonding docsis 3, there's no use troubleshooting further

Re: Packet Loss/Disconnection Issues - Blizzard games

I guess, it's what they gave me when I first signed up with TWC. Like 3 years ago.

So I can just pick up my own modem? I take it that you recommend this 8x4 bonding docsis 3?
