Need help with Model:TC8717T

We were switched to this unit a few weeks ago.

Every so often, maybe every 30 minutes, LOCAL gaming traffic freezes and recovers.

I do see a ton of firewall rejects in the logs, some from both directions and some for stuff completelty outside my network.

Check out a small snipet of one of the bursts:

Re: Need help with Model:TC8717T

paste the signal level and error log pages and if this is via a wired or wireless connection. If wireless, switch to an ethernet cable.

Re: Need help with Model:TC8717T

System and Event logs show zero errors.

How do I find signal level? Our overall WAN speed is awesome.

This is over ethernet.  Wired.  We use all 4 ports for wired computers.

Maybe Max # connections issue?  Can I change that somewhere?  We logged off and started watching roku and now the same amount of random stuff but supposedly originating at roku.

My modem is at 0.1 ... s/b?  I looked through all the menus I could find on the modem software.

Re: Need help with Model:TC8717T

I don't have that modem, but the signal page may be in a sub-menu that you have to expand.  When you log into the modem pages, there is a column on the left, if you click the little triangular arrow next to some of the items there, it will expand the sub-menu.  Try expanding the "Connection" item in the left column by clicking the triangle to the left of the word "Connection".  See if there is a signal page anywhere.  Actually look at all the pages by clicking them.  It may not be named "Signal".

Yes,  those look just like mine.  I've been through them all several times now.

I'm a computer science grad and have 30+ years in software.  I don't think I'm missing it, but its always possible I am missing some navigation mechanism I don't see.

Re: Need help with Model:TC8717T

Well, I have seen other posts on this forum from people with the same model modem, and they posted the signal page contents, so it's in there somewhere!  Here's an example of someone with your modem, posting the signal page, a couple of months ago:

Maybe send that person, Bevo,  a private forum message and ask where it is.

EDIT: Here's another thread that appears to be the same modem, as well:  http://forums.timewarnercable.com/t5/Connectivity/Overloaded-Nodes/m-p/112600

You also don't know what you're network is  doing, lol... if you can only get at the menu via 192.168.0.1, that means you set it in BRIDGED MODE and it's not going to work with multiple devices because there is no router.... TWC/RR/Spectrum only issues ONE public IP to res customers and you're trying to force multiples by not using NAT!
