Degraded speeds following outage after hurricane

If you were like me and lost all TWC services this past weekend following a brief power outage, you might want to check your internet speeds. I am setup for 50Mbps and we are only getting around 10Mbps if that. I reported it and now my line is on a 'watch status' for 24 hours, after which if speeds are still not as they should, a service call is required to resolve the issue. We first noticed it last night watching Netflix and using other streaming services which were badly degraded.

copy and paste the modems signal level and error log pages. Don't reset it, need to see history.

Re: Degraded speeds following outage after hurricane

Of the many things listed in the link, it still lists signal levels and error log which I cannot find as a menu option in my Arris Dual Band modem. Nothing at my end has changed; it happens continually regardless of time of day or who is on. I pay for 50M speeds and generally see well above 30M but now not even half that speed and the impact is obvious on streaming applications. I also use a Netgear Extender as the range of the Arris is poor. The extender provides about half the normal 40-50M speeds coming from the Arris. Most of the remainder of info can be obtained by TWC and the tech if not resolved. In the past in other locations, specific speed thresholds involved the billing folks as they were the ones that manage the contracted services. Maybe they have to so something.

Re: Degraded speeds following outage after hurricane

go to 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.100.1  and to the upstream/ downstream level pages

No menu option for upstream or downstream

Also under direct Ethernet I got under 9M for download. And tests run very slow and erratic up and down speeds well below where they should be.
