Confused on speed and pricing for zip 76308

I have Spectrum Internet Ultra and they recently increased the speed from 100 to 120 down. When I check the rate card, it shows 60/5 and 100/10 as the 2 plans available. However when I go to Spectrum.com and type in an address next to me (since they’re not a customer), it’s advertising 100 down as their lowest speeds for $44.99 and for $25 more getting only 20 more d/l speed for total of 120 that I’m getting.

So if I downgrade my plan, will it put me at 60, 30, or 100? Mind you I upgraded to ultra over a year ago because Spectrum falsely told me I’d get 60 down but really found it t was only 30 down for my area.

The rate card was also updated from 104.99 to 89.99 for Spectrum, but my bill still shows $104.99-$20= $84.99. If ratecard is updated, shouldn’t it now be $89.99-$20= $69.99.

If Spectrum can message me with what the true rates and speeds are supposed to be for my zip code. I can give address in PM.

Thanks

That 120 ultra speed is probably increasing to 300 or 400 soon. DslReport mentions a speed bump for unknown areas on March 1st.

A downgrade should keep you at base 100 as long as your computer/router/cables/net adapters support it.

Here are the usual rates . Hopefully you get it figured out in your location.

Promo Rates

100d or 200d   - $45 with own router

120d, 300d, or 400d - $70 with own router    - $50 ultra install fee

940/35 gigabit - $105  - $200 install fee

Retail rates

100d or 200d - $65 with own router

120d, 300d, or 400d - $90 with own router - $50 ultra install fee

940/35 gigabit - $125  - $200 install fee

Knowing spectrum it would be tough to get them to let you stay with ultra and get moved down to $70.  They probably consider you on a old promo that can't be changed.

What month is your ultra promo suppose to end if you already had it for a year?

Re: Confused on speed and pricing for zip 76308

Had the promo updated a few weeks ago to $20 max they can give because I requested a rate below $89.99 which is the rate card rate and refused to pay more. Spectrum DM on Twitter acknowledged I was being overcharged based on the rate card.

So even with the $20 promo I’m being charged $84.99 instead of $69.99 because Spectrum still using the old $104.99 base rate on my bill in this area. I do have a FCC complaint filed last week and did get a letter from Charter acknowledging it.

Prices you stated are exactly what it should be. $89.99 for Internet Ultra not $104.99. I am no longer under Time Warner pricing as I’m migrated to spectrum.

FCC report I added Spectrum had zero problems increasing everyones bill by $5 automatically after the merger when they updated the rate card. However when they lower the retail rate on the rate card, they’re not automatically lowering everyones bill or telling me there’s been an update.

Re: Confused on speed and pricing for zip 76308

Spectrums old ultra fee was $105 +$200 install fee. $85 used to be the promo.

Twc's ultimate 300 was $110 now $115 + $10 modem fee.

Exactly. Keyword “old” rates since December and they’re still trying to use the old rates here.

Re: Confused on speed and pricing for zip 76308

Well my coworker that lives a mile from me got Spectrum yesterday and for 44.99 he’s getting 100/10 speeds. I’m getting 120/12 with the Ultra plan for $84.99 after the old 104.99 rate minus $20 promotion.

Spectrum I hope gives me the speed increase to 300/400 tomorrow else I’m downgrading for the lesser plan that basically giving me the same speeds but pay much less...

Re: Confused on speed and pricing for zip 76308

So yesterday I downgraded from ultra 120/10 to regular 100/10.

Customer solutions either has zero clue on plans going by just the out dated rate card or lying to me. Over the phone she told me if I downgrade I’ll be at 60/5 and I told her most everyone I know is getting 100/10 in WF. She then blamed it on my address being different than others. I proceeded to tell her if I tried to sign up for services through Spectrum.com for my address, it was offering 100 Mbps. She had no good response to it and said we can downgrade me if I want that.

Downgraded and yup I was 118 down/12 up.

On top of scamming Ultra owners by not telling them on the rate card the 2 plans are 100/10 and 120/10, they’re also overcharging for ultra using the 104.99 retail rate still.

Amazing.
