QAM looks like noise to fm receivers making detection difficult, I'd have to use a receiver degradation setup to find it. I really need to get on TWC/Spectrums case here about the leaks before they go and throw qam alc modules in the amps instead of the cable ch 61 that's in all of them now.

I was hoping something improved because i only saw a T3 Timeout for two days, then tonight..... Boom..... lost a DS channel followed by Loss of Sync, followed by a series of T4 Timeouts resulting in an automatic T4 reboot. That seems to be the new pattern I'm seeing, along with a T3 Timeout every other day or sooner.

Additionally,  after the T4 reboot the modem had consecutive DS channels as usual, but after only an hour it had already switched out 519 MHz.

So.... I went back to the powered green box on Chapman, where you said it was aluminum main line, not fiber optic, and went upstream from there a couple of poles, to just before Coliseum Blvd intersection.  There are those loops that look like fiber optic there, and then from there down to the green box, it looks like the old bare aluminum.  I couldn't get very good pictures with my phone though.

That black line with the lloops, is it bundled with the cable hardline or seperate.. If seperate, it's telco/verizon. If it's bundled to the cable hardline (the bare aluminum stuff, its TWC/Spectrums.

Are you sure it goes into the green box on the pole with the electric meter? I didn't see it in the photos, could of missed it.

As far as I can tell, it's TWC.  The four top wires are the power company, the bottom on the poles is AT&T telco fiber optic for their hi-speed Internet and TV.  The cable above AT&T and below Duke Energy, is Spectrum/TWC.  After those loops, the cable changes to the bare aluminum in the green box pics.

I'll look again when I drive by on the way to an appt later this morning.

Wherever the conversion from fiber to coaxial is where the start of the broadcast TV ingress is to your modem is the last point. You'd need to see if any neighbors are also missing 519 to determine hw widespread the ingress is to determine it's starting point, there may be multiples

It's even conceivable it's right in the head end if there is a coaxial matrix feeding into the fiber , that could be a combining network issue.  There are common signals fed in like basic channels that everyone gets that come off a single source whereas the internet has seperate card connections per each node.

What is interesting is that there's no local ch 22 or 21-23 either... It almost has to be some sort of harmonic mix.

Call Billy, ask him why there are copper jumpers around all the amps. Let him know you are still having t3-4 and 519 is getting dropped even though there seems to be no local broadcast TV channels 21,22,23 nearby.  A 3rd harmonic would be  possibly ch 7 @ 174-180 mHz

 but there's not one nearby either.

 It could be the 5th harmonic of an FM station in the 103-108 mHz range....

Someone would need to go sniffing around with a spectrum analyzer to see what's strong. and what's on 519, they'd need to turn off the 519 from the headend to do that, it could even be a mix fromtheir existing quam channels. or a bad lower channel modulator.

Interesting.  Looking back, 513 or 519 MHz has been the first DS channel to get dropped, soon after a reboot, since I started having these T4 Timeouts reboot the modem.  It happened again today for the third day in a row, two days at about 9:30 PM, today about 3:00 PM..... Lost MDD (dropped DS channels), then Loss of Sync, the T4s till T4 Timeout reboot, then have 8 consecutive channels for maybe an hour or afew hours, then drops 513 or 519 MHz and replaces it with 555 or higher.

unless TV fool isn't up to date, there's no tv ch 20,21 nearby and 22 is pretty weak.

I wonder if there's some testing or unlicensed operation going on.

 Still, it's the cable co's responsibility to keep it out.

Have you narrowed this down to a specific time? That may be a clue.

There may be an FCC STA for something on 20 or most likely 21...
