Using a SB6190, with R7900P-100NAS, on a 400 Ultra plan. Speed test ranges from 200-300, and upload also varies. Had already called Spectrum and a tech came out, was unable to be here (my mistake), but they told my brother that it is getting a speed of 400 and that any speed difference on devices is because of firewalls, etc.
Any type of feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Levels aren't bad. Are you speed testing on wifi or wired direct to the modem?


Speed differences could be caused by any number of things...cpu usage, data traffic, icloud backups, antivirus updates, Netflix streaming...


Are you experiencing outages or extreme slowdowns?

May be your QoS and NAT acceleration features. Running QoS can disable Cut-Through Forwarding, which means extra CPU load that can hinder packet flow.

May be easier to just reset the router to factory defaults, which should turn off QoS and auto select NAT acceleration level.
