Access blocked to a particular web site

I suddenly lost access to http://www.britishcarforum.com a few days ago. Everything else works, just not BCF. A Spectrum technician confirmed (inadvertently) that it is a network problem, because he could not access it either. But the site is up, as I can access it through my phone (as long as it's not attached to my home WiFi), and my friends (not on Spectrum) can access it. I can even ping it, as long as I try the ping from outside Spectrum; eg http://ping.eu/ping/ Technician kept trying to claim problem is at my end, but that doesn't explain why he had no access either. He eventually hung up on me. My question is how to get the attention of someone who can actually troubleshoot and solve this problem. There must be someone somewhere who realizes that the entire Spectrum network doesn't go through my router & PC!

Re: Access blocked to a particular web site

Thanks, Julia and MsRaye.  I was already using those DNS addresses; but just for grins I tried switching to Google's DNS at and got the same results.  I also just get "connection timed out" if I try to access directly.

What IP address did you get for britishcarforum.com?

Here is the traceroute from my computer

Re: Access blocked to a particular web site

Ok, problem solved.  And I owe someone an apology for what I was thinking !

Turns out the problem was a bug on the web site in question.  It's anti-hacker logic had blocked me for the "crime" of reading a post from the forum, that had trigger words in the thread title.  Not even my post!  The webmaster has kindly removed my IP from his block list and all is well.

Of course, that doesn't explain why the technician wasn't able to access the site; nor why Julia saw a different IP address, but Oh Well!  I'm just glad to be back on the air!

Thanks again to both of you for your efforts!
