200 Mbps upgrade from 100 Mbps, LA area

I just checked my spectrum rate card recently and it seems like the greater Los Angeles area is finally getting their base speed upgraded from 100 to 200 mbps.  The rate card doesn't even show 100/10 as an option anymore.

Has anyone around the LA/OC area already been upgraded to 200 Mbps?

I've heard that Spectrum upgrades the speed automatically,  but I've heard that people have also called Spectrum to 'fasttrack' their upgrade to 200. I was wondering if I should make a call to Spectrum.

Re: 200 Mbps upgrade from 100 Mbps, LA area

I just ended up speaking to  a rep online, and it seems like they may have reprovisioned my modem from 100 Mbps to 200 Mbps.  It looks you can just speak to a rep in their technical department fasttrack your speed to 200 rather than waiting for it to upgrade automatically.

This is good news, if you are in the greater Los Angeles area!

These are my speeds using speedtest.net and the google wif app all on Wifi.

How to tell what speed you're on? Mine's $65, so I assume 200/10? From wired PC:
My speed at spectrum.net test: 29/11
My speed at speedtest.net: 88/11
My speed at speedof.me: 100/11
WiFi on phone (speedtest):
89/12 (2.4ghz channel)
227/12 (5ghz channel)

What's up?

@tcat007

Would appear you are on a 200/10 tier (it typically provisions slightly higher than the purchased plan).

Your other devices seem to be constrained by your localized connection limits (100mbps Ethernet, 2.4ghz wifi, etc.). Note how on the 5ghz band you are saturating the line.

Could check the wired adapters to see if they support gigabit speed option, as well as your router's 2.4g options to see if you can either get a cleaner channel number or wider channel width to push it to higher throughput.

My issue is fixed. I had my PCs running off a switch. I bought a new Gb switch for $12, and now my wired PCs are at 205mbps!
