Duplicate Channels

I am in a TWC market area.  I realize that there channels in the low numbers that  are duplicated in the higher channels.  Right now i have both channels listed in my favorites but wife complains about the duplicates.  Which ones, high numbers or lower numbers, can i safely remove from the favorites list without screwing up a channel?

Thanks

Re: Duplicate Channels

After you have viewed both for several minutes to compare, delete the one from your favorites that looks (or sounds) the worst.  If you don't detect any differences, you can delete either one.  If you have a DVR, check both the live and playback programming.

Actually,

There shouldn't be any difference in the picture quality as the PQ will be good, average, or bad, on all instances of the channel,  Therefore, it is only necessary to favorite one of the channels.  If it's an HD channel, as almost all of them are at this time, it will auto tune to HD, and the signal map will be the same regardless.  You should remove more than one instance of a channel from your Favorites List to avoid the duplicates.  But whether you use the lower number tier or higher number tier is a matter of personal preference.

The duplicate listings are there in the Time Grid and Search, because some channels are in more than one package level of service and the higher number channels often require a move to a higher level package.
