Re: TiVo Bolt Val ?

41008,had Rob from support explain to me that my area isn't switched digital yet. Told me only a few parts of Kentucky was around Lexington. He named them off for me and was pretty knowledgeable. We went through some tests and determined the card was bad. He sent me another kit out. What are the odds of getting a hold of 5-6 bad cards? By the way I went through my channels and I'm not receiving everything in standard def like the tech said before he skipped town.

Re: TiVo Bolt Val ?

Connect your tv direct to cable, do a scan, how many analog channels do you get?

You're in the middle of nowhere, 40-50 miles from anything major, It may not have any HD on the starter-standard tiers, do you at least get the channels in the tier?

Re: TiVo Bolt Val ?

I do get those channels. Oddly enough a couple cable cards back I got a few HD channels like ESPN HD would work but ESPN 2 SD wouldn't. The tech left and I believe I get my standards in SD.

Re: TiVo Bolt Val ?

Update , got the new card and wouldn't validate , I started chatting with TiVo support and she wanted me to check conditional access screen. When I did I noticed it actually was validated all of a sudden. I checked my channels, had HBO and some HDs I check. Swapped to next HD and got the pairing screen once again and validation was gone Smiley Sad. Is it possible the signal could be to hot still? Noticed a few tuners had different SNR ratings. I've read were people had to lower the SNR to 35 or slightly lower

Re: TiVo Bolt Val ?

If you have TWC internet, copy and paste the modems signal level and error log pages, don't reset it

Re: TiVo Bolt Val ?

I use my own modem. Anyways I added a 3db attenuator and a splitter because didn't have another attenuator handy, had a hit sent and everything magically started working great. Thanks for all your insight
