SpectrumTV on Computer "Searching" to Play Cannel

SpectrumTV returns a spinning arrow with "Searching" and eventually displays an error message:


"An error occurred during video playback

This video is temporarily unavailable. Please try another video or try again later."
Another week, and another problem with SpectrumTV on a computer (macOS 10.12.6, Chrome 60.0.3112.113, Safari 11.0).
Why can't Spectrum, who has been advertising " a better experience" ever since they purchased Time Warner, get its act together? 
What a miserable customer experience.
