Are there any streaming boxes that will allow pausing, rewind, etc?

I know you can't on Roku or Samsung smart TVs...

Can any boxes other than Spectrums own rented boxes do this?

Thanks!

Amazon fire allows pausing at least on the ethernet connected one we use.... but that function is also set by the copyright holder.Woman Sad

It's a total crock of crap built into HDCP on HDMI and DRM, They can inhibit recording, make recorded items play only once , inhibit FF thru commercials, Make RW jump back to the start, etc.  Woman Sad

Check your device and see what features it offers and what the fine print says about the content controlled functions.

hmmm...  So the Amazon box allows you to pause and resume live Spectrum TV?

None will do that... must be a recording or on Demand

You can't pause or rewind live TV... only on demand.

Try your device there, see if it works.

The AP is like sticking an antenna on your TV... Live is Live, Woman LOL

Bummer.  Really don't want to pay Spectrum an additional $20 per month just to pause a show why someone runs to the john...

Thanks for the info.

Ok, next  time you need a cup of coffee, call your local tv station and ask them to pause their broadcast... get the point?

same with all the other cable broadcasters that are NOT on demand and not something you recorded.

Buy a Tivo.  It will replace your cable box.  But you will have to pay Tivo for guide service.  I am sure you can find a used one with lifetime service on it that will suit your needs.

A cablecard device, like a TiVo, will pause, rewind, etc. just like a regular set top box. Better GUI, better guide, better DVR manager...no PPV though.
