Any DRM changes following the TWC-Charter merger?

Hi all,

I'm currently a CableCard user w/ an HDHomeRun PRIME and Windows Media Center box.  Is there any talks of removing some (or all) of the DRM protection on channels following the switchover to Spectrum? I'd very much like to move on to using another solution outside of WMC.  But if you're familiar with the situation, WMC is the only way to view & record DRM-protected channels.  Please advise.

And no, I refuse to rent a STB!

Unfortunately, Charter has yet to change the legacy TWC DRM implementation.  At this time A HDhomerun Prime and CableCard will work with the unencrypted "Broadcast" channel lineup.  For any channels beyond that, you will need the DRM capabilities of your WMC setup.  Same as prior to the merger.

The one positive I see in the Spectrum merger is the possibility that Time Warner's DRM copy once flag choice would be replaced by Charter's less restrictive standard.

Is there somebody at Spectrum I can write to about this issue?
