Digital Convertor box displays 225.1 error on certain channels

On 1 of 3 digital Convertor boxes in the house, I am getting the 225.1 service interruption message on all local news channels and a couple of cable channels. All other channels display properly with no pixelation. I have tried HDMI and standard cables for connection to the TV. Does anyone have any idea why this is happening?

If it’s just happening on one box, you might try checking the connections to the coax outlet behind that particular box, if you can easily access it. Get a screwdriver and unscrew the wall plate from the wall and check both behind and in front of it to make sure that the coax cables are securely connected to both sides of the wall plate.

You’ll also want to check either coax cable for any broken, loose or corroded connectors as well as any crimps or fraying. Replace any old or frayed cables if you find any.

If you can’t do it on your own, a tech will need to come out. Specify the above in the work order.

If you have a tech come out, don’t unplug or reboot any boxes or modems for at least six hours before your appointment, because that will reset any error codes that the tech needs to see. Swapping out the box will not fix a signal, line, or outlet issue; if that’s what the problem ends up being.
