No IPV6 support for Earthlink over TWC cable customers?

My ISP is Earthlink but I have my internet access over the TWC cable.  I pay TWC for my internet access and have a TWC accout number, but I have a 24.XX.XX.XX IP address.

 

I own my SB6141 hardware V7 modem with SB_KOMODO-1.0.6.16-SCM00-NOSH firmware. Got this latest version of firmware from a TWC download recently.

 

I don't have any IPV6 support even though TWC says that they're 100% IPV6. My firewall is IPV6 capable, but I see no traffic when I reboot the modem.

 

TWC Help has told me that I've got the wrong firmware version for IPV6 and they can't help me since I don't lease the modem.

 

Does anyone really know if Earthlink over TWC customers get IPV6 support?  What version(s) of firmware are necessary on the SB6141?  Is IPV6 100% rolled-out on the TWC network? I'm in the Raleigh, NC area.

hw/fw is good, looks like perhaps the billing code is wrong.

or twc still hasn't standarized the modem administration accross the US...

 

Do you own this 6141?

twc is notorious for sabotaughing COAM modems. blame it on your equipment.

I have a similar situation as the OP. We own our cable modem (CM) for almost two years that is connected to our own LAN router. It's provided reliable and consistent service. In August 2016, we switched to Earthlink (EL) to lower our Internet subscription fee (20/5 plan). Our Internet speeds per testing are consistent with our subscription. Before the EL switch, we had TWC 50/5 plan subscription plus TV and phone. We still have basic cable TV and phone that are fairly reliable and consistent service connections.

After the switch to EL, we lost our CM IPv6 address assignment. During the switch or afterwards, there were no hardware or software configuration changes on our network with the execption of a couple CM power recycles/reboots. Before the switch to EL, on the cable modem (CM) configuration page I used to see an IPv6 link-local address (FE80::/64) for the CM IP Address status and our LAN router received an IPv6 address in the range 2600:141b:13::. Currently, with EL on the CM status page I see a IPv4 Class A private IP address in the range 10.x.x.x and no IPv6 address on the LAN router. Below is my CM h/w, firmware and configuration details.

To my dismay, EL support has not been helpful. Is there a specific group or team at TWC that I can email to request a review of our account billing codes to ensure that we are provisioned with an IPv6 address or range?

did you reset the router to factory settings then tell it to autodetect wan settings?

 Whenever changing anything on the wan side, you must reset the routers configuration and pressing the reset buttton momentarily or pulling power, doesn't.

No luck?

You pay Earthlink and need them to fix this or cancel their service... TWC's not going to help

you may want to switch to Spectrum

I've reset the router (30/30/30) and power cycled. Stil no luck and no IPv6 address on modem or router.

I pay my monthly bills for EL Highspeed cable to TWC, not EL.  When I call EL and ask for cable support they give me the telephone number of TWC.  

 

So who exactly is responsible for what happens over the EL (TWC) cable?  It seems that no one wants to own-up for this.

 

Does anyone know what level of TWC support I can pester for all this?
