Personally Owned Cable Modem

Why is it that some time ago TWC thought it was OK for them to disable the reset button in the software of my personally owned cable modem? Now I can't remotely reset it. I have pull out the plug which is inconvenient since the cable modem is kept in a rack.

That occurred as part of a firmware update released by your modem manufacturer, then pushed to your modem by Spectrum after they tested it determined it was not detrimental to the network.

...Or Spectrum doesn't like the idea of having end users have too much control of the devices and they disabled it...

Not sure how this was a solution to what I asked. And also not sure how removing this function had anything to do with the network.

I don't see where anyone said that the manufacturer's update had anything to do with Spectrum's network.  If you have questions or issues, you'll have to ask the manufacturer of the modem that you purchased and installed on Spectrum's network.
