Time Warner Cable pkg ended - major confusion no help, future of service

Time Warner Cable pkg ended bill shot way up.  I have not been able to fix or get answers.  Internet is no help.  It looks like I have to gamble with ATT some people it has worked others a nightmare.  Spectrum online chat representatives talk in circles, I was happy paying my bill that that was 173 a month for triple play.  I have read online switching to new spectrum pkg is a gamble, Triple silver play would work but, you have to trade out equipment and service is less reliable. I would love new equipment with RF remote control.  Any ideas from forum if we switch locked in for two years.  It is hard to believe Spectrum wants to run off customers,'we have been with Time Warner a long time, other family members in same boat.  Tom Rutledge at Spectrum has no plan that I can see or expressed to new former time Warner customers they acquired.

The only good deal is spectrums internet only $59.95 for 60 megs.

Glad you came here first.

TV will cost you more and at least as much as your current list price being off the 1 yr promo.

If  you want 100 meg or faster, they are also charging a $199 one time "upgrade" fee.

Enjoy the $59 while it lasts. Ours is now $99/month and it's still called a "promotional rate." It goes up about every 6 months. We started around $50 several years ago. Smiley Sad

the $59.95 for 60 megs has only been around a yearand requires you to switch to Spectrum.

There is a new 29.95x3 triple play deal for NEW CUSTOMERS ONLY, It's for a year only

TWC customers that switch to Spectrum are not "new customers"

@KWH I am sorry you have had trouble with the new packages. I would encourage you to phone in and speak with a specialist. I would also suggest taking a look at the channel  lineups

before doing that so you know exactly what channels are in what packages.

Channel Lineup

@Amyc If your Internet only service is reaching that amount it sounds like you have standard, which is normally $59.99 and an Ultimate upgrade witch can be up to $50.00. You may find that a Spectrum package will provide you with some savings.

Thanks, but BTDT. I have been told we don't qualify for the pricing you offer new customers. We don't need to increase our bill, we need to reduce it. Really cruddy to treat long term customers this way, imho. We'd leave if we had a choice but you know, monopoly.

You can curtail costs by building your own triple play.

Keep Spectrum / TWC for Internet only.  Use an antenna for major OTA Networks.  Use SlingTV or PS Vue for major PayTV Networks.  Use Ooma for phone.

If you are an internet only customer, eventually you will be reclassified and you will qualify for new customer pricing when you add video and phone back to the mix.

I'm having the exact same experience with Spectrum.  My bill came on Saturday and it was up by 71%.   I called in to find out my options and ended up having to cut the television service out completely (I'll just use Roku).  They told me if I did that my Internet charge would go up by 77%.

I am a 20+ year customer of Oceanic, but am now making plans to leave the company completely since the only "options" Spectrum is giving me involve spending even more money.

List price, non discounted, Spectrum 60/6 internet service is $59.95 and includes a "free " modem! Wifi turn on is $5 a month extra.. that is list price. Look at your bill, what are you paying now?

Let us say, for example, that you were on a Triple Play priced at $99 per month.  Each service was $33.97.  By the CRS's logic, of course the internet portion of your bill would jump 77%, which is a jump from $33.97 to $60....  Be careful how they express things.  Remember, without video service from TWC, you will:

1.  No longer pay the $6.05 per month BroadcastTV Surcharge

2.  No longer pay the Regional Sports Network fee (if you were)

3.  No longer pay to rent video equipment.

I beleieve there are also some fees and taxes associated with video service that might also drop from your bill.

If you are to become an Internet Only customer, you shouldn't be paying more than $60 (or is it $65 now) per month for 60/6 service, modem included...
