Re: TWC needs to work on RETENTION

I see a bunch of people from TWC being loyal and protecting TWC's constant increases in billing. I have been a TWC user for over 15 years and ONLY internet. Each year my bill goes up. When I call with a problem, invariably I get a foreign script jockey who frustrates me more than helps. If I hear "Uh huh, yes, we're here to help you" one more time.... Anyway, I have worked with the "retention" department last year and got a deal for a year. I am retired and on a very, VERY fixed income and can't afford to have my bill increase by $20-$40 a year (especially since I don't see cost of living increases in my Social Security). The department tries to make a deal (a bundle of internet, tv, phone, etc). Internet is cheaper that way, but my overalll bill would increase more than 100%. I have three retired friends who have all gotten major reductions in TWC plus some perks not asked for, all the while maintaining current speed and services. One had her bill dropped 75%, given an extra box and DVR, dramatic increase in internet speed, and premium channels for a year. I get the guy who's only option is to drop me down to basic (5mbs) and pay $10 less than I am paying now. In this economy nobody wants to spend more, but seriously, how about some consideration for the seniors on fixed incomes? I've read your posts as to why TWC increases their cost each year, but when I don't get increases in Social Security, it becomes increasingly difficult to keep up with your (or anybody elses) increases.

Re: TWC needs to work on RETENTION

How about channels ala carte?  I have hundreds of channels but I only watch about 10 but the way TWC lays out their packages I have to have several different and expensive add on packages to get some of the channels I want.

The way it is now I get most of my content online, and if I cant get ala carte sometime soon I will ditch the TV portion all together.

I know the channel companies bundle their channels together to force people to pay for all the extra crap that nobody wants, but come on, a company like TWC has enough clout to force them to unbundle or change up their structure.

The only reason I have TWC over the competition is they have the fastest broadband in my area.

Re: TWC needs to work on RETENTION

Only ever allowed a "new promo" once, all it really did was add a couple movie channels which I told them I would not be utilizing. Just got off phone telling them I was getting rid of my cable and phone, they didn't ask if anything was wrong, didn't ask why. So, as usual, I see they do not care about keeping long time customers.

Re: TWC needs to work on RETENTION

I agree. My bill goes up every yr. I'm paying more this yr then last yr just for turbo 25 mbps internet, and I'm even using my own modem now. Its still more then I used to pay with their modem. First chance I get I'll be changing to verizon. Their speeds crush TWC at the same price points. I can get 50/50 for the price Im paying for 25!

I want to upgrade my Internet plan, but anything under 50 mbits is not listed, why?

We would ask that you phone in to discuss this upgrade. You would be looking for "Basic" Internet.

In our upgraded markets that is the 10 x 1 connection. If you are however in an area we have not upgraded that would be a 6 x 1 connection.

Our specialists can be reached at 1-800-892-4357.

I'm actually going to the office in a few hours to pick up my Install Kit, i will hopefully get an explanation why the website only has 4 tiers instead of 6. After all, doesn't TWC want you to upgrade so they can get more money?
