Peace & Quiet's Phone Features

Hello phone subscribers.

Do you use "Peace & Quiet" features in your Spectrum phone service in https://voicezone.timewarnercable.com/SummarySettings/SummarySettings? If so, then how well do they work? Any false positives if all enabled?

Thank you in advance. Smiley Happy

Hi Ant,

You can activate them or deactivate them based on your needs.  My favorite feature is "Nomorrobo"  turn that on, along with "Answer Anywhere", (needed for Nomorobo to work.) and telemarketer and spam calls are dropped after the first ring.  Calls will still show up on Caller ID on TV if you also have Spectrum Cable TV services, but the thing is, the spammer and telemarketer can't leave a message.  Nomorobo hangs up on them!

Had it activated for three years and only one Telemarketer call was able to leave a message!  But you can go to Nomorobo's web site and report calls that are getting through that should not be allowed.  You can also report calls that are being blocked that should be allowed through.  Nomorrobo than "reviews" the number.

You should also activate "Block Unwanted Callers" and "Block Anonymous Callers."  There are many settings in Spectrum phone features that are free that other carriers charge extra.

Re: Peace & Quiet's Phone Features

There are so many options. I don't want to overdo it and block valid callers. Also, there is an answer machine (not Spectrum's voice mail) and fax machine.

Hi Ant,

The main things that you should activate are the following:

1.) Nomorrobo

2.) Call blocking option (allows you to block up to thirty numbers of your choosing.) Nomorrobo is so good, that I have not needed this since turning on that feature.

3.) Anonymous  Call Rejection.

Those are the main things I would recommend for privacy, while allowing legitimate calls through.

Thanks. I will try those. I already set Call blocking option enabled because of an annoying repeating caller since yesterday. Very annoying!

"You have turned on Nomorobo, which has also activated Simultaneous Ring. Calls are being sent only to Nomorobo." -- I hope this and other features don't mess up incoming faxes, international (e.g., China), and other valid calls.

Re: Peace & Quiet's Phone Features

As has already been mentioned, Nomorobo is awesome! I do still get occasional telemarketers that make it through, but my Panasonic phone allows me to manually block numbers.

Re: Peace & Quiet's Phone Features

Do I assume these features are not additional charges?

Re: Peace & Quiet's Phone Features

From Spectrum: "With Nomorobo, you can block unwanted calls from telemarketers and robo-callers. This feature uses a list of phone numbers from the FCC Do Not Call list to block suspected calls. This service is available for landline Spectrum phones at no additional charge." You can simply google Spectrum nomorobo or choose the Voice tab after signing into your Spectrum account.
