iPhone email issues

Time warner cable email won’t download to devices. Worked fine until a week ago. Troubleshooting said to delete and re-add email account - which has been done too many times to mention. Also having issues on older iPad with email as well. Says it we have X unread email messages, when we go to inbox, nothing there

When you set back up the account did you review the settings listed on the support website? Are you able to login to webmail? Mail.twc.com? If so do you 

see the same issue with the inbox messages?

 

What are my incoming and outgoing mail server addresses?


 

Note: Using both IMAP and POP simultaneously or POP across multiple devices can cause connection/mail synchronization error messages when trying to send, receive or access new email such as the following:

“The mail server denied access to your account because another mail client was using it.”

To avoid these errors we recommend using IMAP on all devices.

POP and IMAP are two different email protocols used to access your email account.


  1. From Settings, select Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
  2. Select Add Account.
  3. Select Other.
  4. Select Add Mail Account.
  5. Enter a Name, Email, Password and Description.
  6. Select Next.
  7. Select POP or IMAP.
  8. Enter or confirm (if automatically set) your account settings.
    • POP settings:
      • Account Type: POP or POP3
      • Incoming Mail Server: mail.twc.com
      • Incoming Server - POP3 port: 995
      • Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP): mail.twc.com
      • Outgoing Server - SMTP port: 587*
        *Note: If you are able to receive, but not send, emails while on your mobile device, you'll need to use your mobile carrier's outgoing SMTP server and port.
      • Inbound & Outbound User Name: Enter full email address
        • johndoe@[division].rr.com
        • johndoe@roadrunner.com
        • johndoe@twc.com
      • Inbound & Outbound Password: Email Password (same as Web Mail)
      • SMTP Server Requires Authentication: Checked
    • IMAP settings:
      • Account Type: IMAP
      • Incoming Mail Server: mail.twc.com
      • Incoming Server –IMAP port: 993
      • Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP): mail.twc.com
      • Outgoing Server – SMTP port: 587*
        *Note: If you are able to receive, but not send, emails while on your mobile device, you'll need to use your mobile carrier's outgoing SMTP server and port.
      • Inbound & Outbound User Name: Enter full email address

  9. Enter your full email address and password.
  10. Select Save.

  12. If you need to edit your settings, select your email account from the Accounts list.
