Lack of adequate email password security?!!

What is TWC doing to protect customers' email passwords during message retrieval and sending? I have tried to configure email clients to use secure password transmission, but TWC's servers reject all protected modes.

this leaves customers' communications wide open to interception. This lack of security is deplorable.

If you are not running over a VPN tunnel, your communications are open to interception anyhow.  Protecting just the email password by itself does not constitute message security.

Agreed. Absolute security aside, TWC's not providing secure password transmission leaves the door wide open.

The lack of security is bad enough, but not providing information to customers so they can improve their security and privacy is deplorable.

Not to minimize your complaint, but "security through obscurity" is a low cost philosophy that apparently appeals to Spectrum's management - 'We won't talk about this openly.   Users who already  know better IT methods will find their own fix.'
