Sorry to hear you have had a problem. I can assume you are using an email client to send and receive email.

What email client are you using?

Are you able to send and receive using webmail?    mail.twc.com

When you view your settings do you have both inbound and outbound server set to mail.twc.com?

The username should be your full email address (including @domain example johndoe@twc.com)

Please ensure your password is your current password, verified by logging in at mail.twc.com

Please make sure outbound  port is marked as 587

Re: Badges I don't need no stinking badges!!

Julia,

C&P from my other post:

When opening mac Mail my sub-account has a warning and the Online status box comes on saying it is unable to connect.

This started Monday AM when I tried to send an invoice with the sub account.

After many hours over 3 days I ahve no resolution.

I had remote sessions withh both twc tech and apple tech and the problem remains.

the sub account has been active for 3+ years. the main acct. for over 10.

The mail servers are pop-server... and smtp-server... for both accounts.

These settings are the original setting frm when the acct. were opened
On the FAQ  page I see that it gives the servers both as mail.twc.com

This was tried by the tech guy on monday with no positive results.

I am at a loss here.

Any help would be greatly appeciated.

I will change the settings but as you suggest and see what happens.

But this was tried on Monday by one of your tech guys during a remote access session.
I will report back ...
Thx

Tony

For problems of this nature we would need to have someone who

supports that program help. There may be folks here on the forums

familiar with that program.

We are not able to support that program, we are only able to provide

you with the information for access to our servers. We have no information

on the support for that program.

Any users out there with Mac Mail familiar with this situation?

Re: Badges I don't need no stinking badges!!

I'm not familiar with Mac Mail or any Apple-produced product these days.  I had my "fling" with Apple back in 1981, when I purchased an Apple ][ Plus.  Apple treated me poorly, so I swore off ever buying another Apple product over 30 years ago (I made good on that promise).

But I don't need to know anything about a particular e-mail client to tell anyone and everyone that they DO NOT WANT to use Spectrum's e-mail servers.  Don't do it, don't go there, it's just an exercise in frustration.  If it seems to work for you now, great, find another e-mail service and move to it ASAP.

When it comes to e-mail, Spectrum does not know what they are doing, nor do they care.  I never used my TWC-assigned e-mail address, in hindsight that was one of my smarter moves.  My wife used Roadrunner e-mail for some time, and regularly had problems with it.  E-mails not arriving, e-mails that didn't reach their destinations, all kinds of little or not so little problems that just made her mad.  She switched to Gmail and the problems have simply gone away.  That's the difference between an organization that wants to provide an e-mail service (Google) and one that doesn't (TWC/Spectrum).
