dropping internet

since  about  3-4 weeks ago have had droppage of wireless internet on both my wifes and mine. they upped me to 60mbps and had no problems for about a week, but since then the droppage and slow connection has been pretty bad. have a zoom 5352 for past 2-3 years with no problem. it is a combo modem/router.  some info from modem.  any help would be appreciated. TIA

You have awful corrected/ uncorrected counts possibly due to too high of signal levels. Are there any splitters/ amplifiers in line or are you internet only?

I'd add either a 6 dB attenuator or a 4 way splitter with terminator resistors on the 3 unused ports to see if it reduces the correction counts as TWC won't do anything but blame it on the coam modem

If that doesn't help, you should have one of spectrums free modems and need to use it instead so they fix the problem

I have internet only. i see the 6db attenuator on amazon that one screws into the modem coax connection I assume? right. The "4 way splitter with terminator resistors on the 3 unused port" i am not sure about. Are you referring to the other 3 ethernet lines? and if so where can get it? you are talking to a neophyte here.

A 4 way coaxial splitter is essentially a 7.5 dB attennuator , that 3 terminators and a jumper are a home depot/lowes item.

 

You want to get that +10 to +11 ds level down a little bit, see if the 6 dB attenuator fixes the correcteds

 Are you sure there's not an amplifier in the house somewhere on that coax?

 Next item is you didn't include enough of the log... What is the reason for the wifi change? Is it interference or init?

If interference, lock it onto ch 3 or 8, turn off the scan.

Thanks for help. No amplifier. TW recommended turning auto ( scan) off also and locking in channel #1 and also setting bandwidth to 20mhz. still getting droppage so I switched to channel #5.
will order the 6 dB attenuator and lock i channel #8 and give it a whirl.  Any other suggestions?TIA

If the attenuator doesn't reduce the correctables/ uncorrectables, you'll need twc out.

 Sounds like you have interference from other modems on the usual 1-6-11 and need to pick channels centered between them like 3-4-8-9 as the channels when running 40 meg+ overlap a bit

Some folks set the channel bandwidth on their 2.4 GHz  modems to 40 MHz wide because the manual claims it will run at a higher speed.  What the writers of the "quick-start manuals" always fail to say is that in wide mode the radio then gets interference from at least twice as many channels used by other nearby WiFi users.  Leave the bandwidth set at 20. The  preferred channels are 1, 6, or 11; alternate channel 3, 4, 8, or 9 if the primary ones are all occupied by your neighbors.

There are several apps for Apple and Android smartphones that scan for WiFi signals.  I don't use an Apple phone or know which apps are best.  I use both WiFinder and WiFi Analyzer on my Android devices.   Each of these will scan through the channels, display the signal levels detected, and list every SSID heard.
