The interference is due to 2.4 ghz wifi and bluetooth using the same frequency, albeit usually different channels as you find out when you switch the router to channel 1 or 11. I'm puzzled as to why your router won't stay locked onto that channel instead of you having to go back in a week or so and redo it. I wonder if the router periodically resets itself to it's default settings? This might be the case since you are using an all-in-one leased from TWC. If it becomes a really serious concern you're only remedy may be turning off wifi completely in the all-in-one and getting your own stand alone router that TWC won't have access to change the settings.

That's the thing though.....the router DOES stay on the same channel when i manually change it.  Just the issue itself for some reason comes back.  For example:

Lets say it happens today and i go into the router and manually change it to channel 11 and the issue goes away.   2 weeks or so from now it will happen again and i'll go back into the router settings and the channel will still be on 11.  I'll change the channel to 1 and then the issue will go away again.  All of this started when they gave me this UBEE router.....my old TWC router never caused issues like this.

My misunderstanding...I thought in your original post that you were saying the router went back to auto when you would lock it to 1 or 11.

Do you have older wifi devices that need 2.4 or can everything use 5 ghz? If you can get away with turning off the 2.4 band that should keep the issue from returning.

I can check....i know my phone uses the 5G WIFI, but i dont know if all the other devices we use also support 5G but i will certainly check as youre right, that would hopefully eliminate it.   If not, i'll come back with some log info as you had suggested earlier.  Appreciate all the help and suggestions so far!

post the error/event log, something might jump out... don't reset it, let's see what's hapenning...

On some of the all in ones, either a coaxial signal loss or wireless interference will force a lockup but it should also reset.

If you're in dense housing, someone might be trying to hack in or worst yet, "Deauth " it's wireless.

It's why no one recomends all in one boxes, the modem must be seperate from the router to rule out cable co horseplay

Ok, so this happened again last night, and i didn't reset the channel and went in and looked for downstream and upstream data and found the below.

As far as error logs, the only thing i could find with logs was on the firewall area.   The entry in the middle (bolded) corresponds to the exact time when the weird interference took place.

I dont know if this means anything or helps point something out but im really getting sick of this.....only since the UBEE router did this start happening.

Re: Ubee Spectrum WIFI Router Causing PS4 Pro Dualshock 4 Controller Issues

are you in Austin?

Those channels are subject to broadcast TV ingress, I think I see it in the counts since the levels were taken shortly after a reset.  Need to see them again with a couple hours of Up time to see if there's a patern...

The log entry is from the DNS you;re using... Why don't you use TWC's? It's probably faster...

Re: Ubee Spectrum WIFI Router Causing PS4 Pro Dualshock 4 Controller Issues

I am in Austin, however i only use Spectrum for my internet and not tv if that matters.  I use a Roku 2 box connected via ethernet to the UBEE router and use SlingTv for my tv.   Would that ingress issue still affect me, and if so, can i do anything about it?

When i had the issue last night and took these log entries down, i never did reset the router channel or the router beforehand, so the entries you see are right as the issue happened or just after, without any changes on my part.

The DNS that's listed,  are you referring to the 208.67.222.222 address in the first entry?  I had been told at one point to help the PS4's connection to their PSN network that i should use the Open DNS IP's for the primary and secondary within the PS4 settings so i had manually told the PS4 to use that DNS.   Are you saying that i should use the Time Warner ones instead?  If so, can you tell me what to input for the primary and secondary DNS in my PS4 settings?

Re: Ubee Spectrum WIFI Router Causing PS4 Pro Dualshock 4 Controller Issues

I continue to have this issue intermittently, and last night it was really bad!!  Game started lagging out and i unplugged the router and of course the issue instantly went away.   When i plugged the router back in a minute or so later, it took forever for the router to reinitialize.  In fact, even this morning, were still having issues now with other devices being able to connect and stream from Netflix, etc....

I have a Spectrum tech coming Thursday evening as im tired of paying for service i cant reliably use.  Can anyone tell me specifically what i can have him/her check, or do on Thursday to make sure i can get this fixed?

DNS s/b 209.18.47.61/62

Don't reset the modem post the signal level and error log pages again, lets see what has changed.

Sorry, i had called them this morning after my last post since my gf was telling me at home that it was still not working right, and Spectrum did a remote reset and changed a few settings that they said "should resolve it".   It took a while after that but as of 15 min ago when i checked back with my gf she said its working now.  Honestly, my guess is that these level 1 techs at Spectrum are only script readers and guess and reset your modem 95% of the time and hope that fixes why you call them.

It feels to me like some bad interference when it happens, and i can always stop it by unplugging the router.

I can give you the logs again tonite if it acts up, or do you want to see them whether it acts up or not?
