Missing cable modem's upstreams #2 and #3...


Hello.

In TWC's (rent/leas)ed Arris TG1672G cable modem's http://192.168.100.1/cgi-bin/status_cgi web page, I noticed two missing power, channel type, symbol rate, and modulation in its upstream:

I haven't noticed anything different with the phone and Internet services, but usually see them filled. Is this something to worry about? Do I need to power cycle the modem? Is it caused by the very hot weather in So(uthern) CA(lifornia)? I hope the signals are good now. Smiley Wink

You have excessive correcteds as well and on all channels...

Do a reset, see if they come up, but first, post thge error log page...

that looks like some sort of coaxial issue, like corroded center wire/ open splitter ports, Ingress from something like sw broadcast or CB radio killing the 2 upstream channels, see if a reset brings them back, if not check connections. Modem must be on the first 2 way splitter.

A soft reset fixed it. Also, I think I know caused it. The cable modem was briefly physically moved (not disconnected) to clean its desk on Friday morning. Maybe that caused it?

really sounds like a bad coaxial connection.

Make sure it's not cross threaded and the coax doesn't swivel freely.

Some of the combo's have really bad firmware in them, won't reset/ fix themselves, typical in phone/ combo's...

 repost the signal page with a couple hours of up time.

Something is corroded or loose and you're getting ingress from local tv channels 31-36

may be a bad crimp / compression connector.

Hmm, channels 31-36 look fine on the DVR and HDTV. Cable modem's status look fine  too since last night's soft reset. I will worry about it again if I see issues again.

broadcast tv channels 31-36 are not cable channels 31-36 . Entirely different frequencies pluss all TWC/Spectrum channels are qam and aliased.

I think there's ingress from one or more broadcast channels.

 

 I'd need to run your zip code to see how many and how strong they are thru TVfool.
