My internet is not working and I work from home, I called in the service request you said it will be 9/15/2014 before someone can com out, I will loose my job by then, I need my internet fixed today.

I'm sorry that the timne frames for a tech to be out there don't align with your needs (genuinely). If you work from home, you may want to consider a business account or Signature Home service, as these have dedicated techs that may be able to address your needs sooner than a residential account, as residential is first come, first serve and designed for entertainment purposes rather than dedicated business.
What are the lights on the modem doing?
Then unplug it for 30 seconds, plug it back in and see if they still do the same thing.
A flashing DS usually means the cable is broken somewhere. I assume you don't have cable TV to see if everythings dead...
