Intermittent Internet / Download Speed Extremely Slow

Hello All,

About a couple weeks ago the speed of my Internet has went from fast to extremely slow. Previously I was getting 20-35 MBPS now I barely get 2 MBPS and it keeps going in and out. Speedtest - http://imgur.com/a/ZSIRz. TWC came out a few times and now is trying to tell me that its my modem that is bad. We plugged the modem right into the line from the street and the speeds were not any better. They has a line group come out and analyze the line at the telephone pole. They said all noise on the line has been fixed.

For my line coming into the house it runs into an amplifier. It is then split into 2 lines, 1 line to modem and 1 line to TV. The modem line is split again 1 line for Internet and 1 line for phone. I get Internet, phone and TV from TWC and my plan is the Ultimate 200. All cables are CAT5e or CAT6.

I have my own modem it is a Netgear C7000-100NAS. Firmware isV1.01.15.  Below are all the logs.

Re: Intermittent Internet / Download Speed Extremely Slow

They are wrong, your levels are terrible. It is typical to always blame the COAM modem... This is a recurring theme here in the forums for 4 years. A different or "their" modem won't fix the bad s/n and probabluy ingress from local broadcast tv channels.

How far are you from the street?

Why is there an amplifier? what is the exact model number of it?

Are there any wall plates or surge protectors? Is everything using compression, not hex crimped connectors and a tad more than finger tight?

Repost the signal page WITHOUT RESETTING THE MODEM for a few hours, need to see real history, not all those 0's in correctable/ uncorrectables

Re: Intermittent Internet / Download Speed Extremely Slow

I am about 150 ft from the street. cable is run right from telephone pole to the house. 90% of cables are the hex screw ons and were tightened with a wrench when TWC came the first time.

Re: Intermittent Internet / Download Speed Extremely Slow

I don't see a problem with signal levels here.  Might wonder why the amp would be needed if trunk line levels are set properly.  But the corrected and uncorrectable error counts and the Signal to Noise on 645, 663 and 669 MHz are both very much unacceptable, (probably ingress related).

Re: Intermittent Internet / Download Speed Extremely Slow

what's your zip? Bet you have local tv stations on ch's 43-44, 46-47-48 there.

That amp has too much forward gain for a proper pole tap off. So I'm pretty sure they have a level issue out on the streeet or a bad drop line to the house that they've cobled in an in house amplifier to correct.  You'd need to se the neighbors levels on the same tap to compare levels, this may be a bad line, especially if it was not replaced...Woman Sad

Looking at connectors, some are the 4 year and newer hex/ knurled ones and others are older 5+ year old hex nutted ones. So at least some connectors, not all were recently replaced...

Can you get a photo of what's at the outside grounding block?
