High latency to the game server

Hi, guys! Hope, writing to the right branch in this forum. I play on russian server ArcheAge game and for online game tha latency is really high. The ping is about 165 to 180ms. Sometimes there are packets loss. Anyway, is there possibility to reduce the latency and find a path to the server with less hops and less latency?

Server IP: 178.22.90.186

Re: High latency to the game server

I do wish that the supposedly internet-savvy folks who run and post their traceroute results and complain about long ping times would take the time to learn the second step of troubleshooting internet path routing: Identify the device owners at every hop by their IP addresses.

Hop 9 IP address 62.67.36.230 is assigned to Spectrum's contracted IXP, Level3 Communications.  That network device is the interface between Spectrum's transport network and Level3.  From Spectrum's viewpoint it is effectively part of the 'world-wide web.'

Why is that important?  Because Spectrum only has control over equipment inside their system, including hops 1 through 8 on your traceroute.  Hop 9 is the handoff link from Spectrum to Level3.  From there on your data packets are running over various international transport media to the target gaming host server in Russia.  Good luck getting those carriers to change their routing tables just for your gaming desires.
