Constant Nat type 3 on PlayStation consoles.

As the topic implies, I have a Nat type of 3 consistently. I've had it since day 1 as a customer to this service. I've tried everything I could to get it to change to a Nat type 2, but nothing helps. I have even tried DMZ for my consoles. I downloaded an app on. My tablet that tells me info regarding Nat, and it says I have a port restricted Nat. Not really sure what that means to be honest. Does it have something to do with spectrums service they are providing me with, is it the modem, or cables maybe? I just know that trying to connect to the PlayStation store is hit and miss for me all the time. Anyways I have the Technicolor tc8717t, hardware revision 1.1, software version 01.ED.04.32.00, all the SNR readings show between 39.4-40.1dB for downstream, and the boot version is 4.0.7_Technicolor. I don't know what other information is needed so I will do my best to provide it if needed.

You can't run DMZ on more than one device and I believe you can't run more than 1 playstation at a time if it's using peer to peer on a residential connection.

`Copy and paste the modems signal level and error logs, s/n is a very small part of signal issues

Next issue is the Technicolor tc8717t... it's an all in one and I seriously doubt you will ever get the settings correct and get them to stick. All in ones get reset by the cable co's back to default, Items are greyed out and won't stay on when power is reset.

Re: Constant Nat type 3 on PlayStation consoles.

you also need to give up on wireless and use ethernet cabling, turn off the wireless scan and lock it onto ch 3 or 8 to kill those interference resets.

Won't help the T3 or T4 errors  's however that are some sort of upstream issue.

I'd also set the DHCP start at 192.168.0.100 and put the playstations on static ip's of 192.168.0.99 and 0.98

Make sure the dhcp lease is set for a day not an hour.

Get a seperate modem and router, etc.

Are there any modems you would suggest I look into in particular? Money isn't an issue. I want to feel like I'm getting what I'm paying for (mostly) as far as my service goes.

CM600 or SB6183 seem to be the most recommended stand alone modems at the moment. We all have our own brand preferences and needs. I have an SB6190 and got it cheap because people are staying away from it. I don't do online gaming or VPNs or video conference so I don't notice any lags or latency problems.

Okay, I bought the Arris surfboard modem, whichever one supports up to 343mpbs. I also picked up the nighthawk ac1750 as my router since I've heard nothing but good things about it. I'll have them both by Tuesday, I will let you know if my situation has gotten better. If it's the same, then at least I won't need to spend the extra 10$ a month for their modem and I can bring it back.

What model? 343 m sounds like an 8x4 which we don't recomend any more.... Hope it's a 6183 or 6190  which are 16 & 24 ch units.

Re: Constant Nat type 3 on PlayStation consoles.

Eh...yeah it's the 8x4. Model is 6141, only reason I picked it is because it was cheap and our connection speed is only like 30mbps anyways so even 343mbps kinda seemed like overkill. We only ever have like 6 devices connected max. at one time. Also just an update: putting the Technicolor modem into bridge mode and connecting my new router is giving me Nat type 2 on both ps4's at the same time.
